The relevance of having knowledge of the different technology related learning theories

Having knowledge of the different technology related learning styles is extremely relevant as teachers need to know what technology best suits each learning style. Knowing this a teacher can bring out the best in each student. Having knowledge of each technology and how they relate to each learning style  can make students more interested in class which will get them to participate.
Connectivism is "a learning theory for the digital age," and has been developed by George Siemens and Stephen Downes based on their analysis of the limitations of behaviorism, cognitivism, and how we learn. Donald G Perrin, Executive Editor of the International Journal of Instructional Technology and Distance Learning and says the theory "combines relevant elements of many learning theories, social structures, and technology to create a powerful theoretical construct for learning in the digital age."
